Our October musician in residence, Val Wisecracker, has been writing some new songs while at the Mango Tree House. One of which was inspired by a curious amble down Duval Street, and a particularly Key West scene in front of La Te Da. Val pondered the experience, took her banjo and new song, jumped into the Harpoon Harry’s open mic night, and returned to the Mango Tree House with first place (a bottle of rum). We think her island number, Another Key West Tale/Tail, its a perfect tune to unleash on the eve of Fantasy Fest. Special thanks to Dan Simpson, our house sound technician, for bringing his Private Ear portable recording studio to the Armory, and recording Val and her new song at The Studios of Key West.
