About the Exhibition

For twenty years, The Studios has invited artists into our galleries from around the world and right here at home to reflect back to us the things they see. We’ve showcased work that audiences here would never have seen otherwise, and work that resonates in the particular context of Key West – our flora and fauna, our traditions, our connections to the Caribbean, and our one human family. In this anniversary season, we’ve reached back for examples that highlight those themes. With over 400 exhibitions and thousands of artists behind us, Reflections is not a survey, much less a retrospective; it’s a chance to pause and reflect on an ongoing project, and bring our history into focus.

For twenty years, The Studios of Key West has brought artists, audiences, and ideas together—creating space to make, share, experiment, and connect. This anniversary season, we celebrate the people and creative spirit that brought us here, while looking ahead to all that’s still to come.

  • First Thursday is The Studios’ monthly exhibition opening and community gathering. Join us on the first Thursday of the month from October through June from 6–8pm to explore new exhibitions, meet artists, enjoy drinks and conversation, and experience The Studios after hours.

  • Our galleries are open Tuesday through Saturday, 10am–4pm, unless otherwise noted. Admission to our exhibitions is always free.

  • Our exhibition spaces are located at The Studios of Key West at 533 Eaton Street in Old Town Key West. Individual exhibition pages identify the specific gallery where each show is installed.

  • Nothing! Admission to The Studios’ galleries and exhibitions is free during regular gallery hours and First Thursday opening receptions.

  • No. First Thursday exhibition openings are free and open to the public from 6–8pm.
