Rick Worth is a Key West artist and educator whose colorful work has helped shape the island’s visual character for nearly four decades. A former Navy submariner, Worth moved to Key West in the mid-1980s to pursue a life as an artist. His work can be found throughout the city, from murals and Fantasy Fest facades to his celebrated painted “art-o-mobiles” and signature “candy bars,” created on reclaimed Key West roofing tin.
“Rick is one of the most authentic human beings anyone will ever meet, and it can’t be overstated how much of an impact he has had on the Key West arts community,” said Jed Dodds, executive director at The Studios of Key West.
A passionate advocate for accessible public art, Worth has also taught generations of artists in churches, galleries, and classrooms across the island, including his longtime Painting Boot Camp at The Studios of Key West.
