Exhibits On View

Abstract geometric painting with a large orange circle and an arrangement of turquoise, red, brown and white rectangular forms.

Billy Kearins

Losing Control: The Balance of Opposites

Sanger Gallery

Part art exhibition, part scientific experiment, Losing Control begins with a single constant: an orange circle hovering beside a blue square. Artist Billy Kearins treats this simple image as his “control,” then sets out to test just how far he can push it.

Oil painting of a child wearing swim goggles and a pink swimsuit, standing beside an aquarium filled with fish.

Lindsay Liang

Underwater

Zabar Project Gallery

Growing up on an island, Liang learned to see the world through water: reflected, distorted and always shifting. In Underwater, her intimate oil paintings bring that perspective indoors, where figures, animals, mirrors, aquariums and everyday objects take on a dreamlike quality.

Close-up painting of a colorful assortment of overlapping bottle caps featuring beer and beverage logos.

Shannon Martin Perkins

Making the Ordinary, Extraordinary

Zabar Lobby Gallery

Beer caps, golf balls, vinyl records, worn shoes and crumpled cans become larger than life in this series of vibrant oil paintings by Florida Keys artist Perkins. Using bold color, dramatic light and expressive brushwork, familiar objects are transformed into energetic contemporary still lifes.

Appliquéd quilt depicting two emotional embraces surrounded by orange-and-black butterflies, flowers, and layered patterned fabrics.

Jo-Ann Morgan

Blessed Are Those Who Weep

XOJ Gallery

Jo-Ann Morgan uses appliqué and quilting techniques to create intricately stitched works that pair human figures with flowers, toys, and other symbolic objects, recalling the spontaneous memorials that emerge in the wake of tragedy.
