From Trip to Travel Story—How to Write and Publish the Journey You Can’t Stop Thinking About with Paulette Perhach
About the Class
You don’t have to be a travel writer to turn a trip into a great story. You just need to know how to find the story hiding inside everything that happened.
In this lively, hands-on workshop, writer and writing coach Paulette Perhach will help you move beyond “and then we went here, and then this happened” and shape a real experience into a compelling personal narrative. You’ll learn how to find the moments with the most emotional charge, turn memories into vivid scenes, and identify what your story is really about underneath the itinerary.
Then we’ll take it one step further: you’ll learn how to polish that story for publication, where personal travel stories can find a home, and how to approach submitting your work to editors.
You’ll leave with pages written, a clearer sense of the story you want to tell, and a practical next step for getting it out of your head, onto the page, and—if you want—into print.
